What is a Listserv?
Briefly, a listserv is a mass-email discussion forum.
As a member of NARCA, your firm is automatically enrolled in the
NARCA mailing list. The purpose of this mailing list is to allow
our members, at the click of a button, to carry on a professional
dialogue with other NARCA member attorneys in the collection industry.
The mailing list will provide a forum to exchange ideas and feedback
about issues relating specifically to the practice of collection
law.
How does the NARCA Member Listserv work?
The address of the NARCA Listserv is legal_collector@lists.narca.org.
Only active subscribers may post messages to this list. Any time
that you wish to post a message to the NARCA mailing list, you
may e-mail this address.
PLEASE NOTE: Any message that
you submit to legal_collector@lists.narca.org
will be sent to all NARCA mailing list subscribers. This is an
ATTORNEY ONLY mailing list. The NARCA mailing
list is comprised of the primary billing contacts
in each member firm approximately 700 attorneys
one attorney per firm. If you wish to designate another attorney
to be registered for the mailing list, other than the billing
contact, please let us know by emailing cindyw@narca.org
and listing the name of the attorney, and their email address.
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL YOUR REQUESTS TO THE ENTIRE MAILING
LIST.
Any time you wish to respond to a mailing list submission,
you must respond by simply using your e-mail readers reply
function. In most e-mail programs, this will reply to the ENTIRE
mailing list NOT the original sender.
How should/can I use the NARCA Listserv?
The NARCA mailing list has been provided as a means
for our members to obtain professionally relevant information
at their desktops all at the click of a button. To ensure
that this is a successful, meaningful membership benefit for our
members, we request that you refrain from posting messages or
replying to messages unless you have a meaningful response or
message to contribute.
Examples of scenarios in which the NARCA mailing
list would be helpful and appropriate to use:
-
To discuss/communicate recent case decisions
and other issues with regard to FDCPA, FCRA, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.
- To ask for general information regarding a court-related topic
i.e., Has anyone had success in their states with
electronic filing of pleadings?
- To ask for assistance with law office economic questions
i.e., Im looking for an efficient way to organize
my legal collection office. Any suggestions? or, How
many files per legal collector is a good ratio? or, Has
anyone located a good malpractice policy that covers FDCPA violations?
- To ask for strategic guidance i.e., Has anyone
successfully used auto license plate numbers/information to collect
judgments?

and encourages networking over the listserv, please do so with
cautious discretion. If a subscriber wishes to share a business
opportunity over the listserv, this is acceptable; however,
